Floyd Mayweather Jr. Plans 3-Day Event In Michigan To Celebrate Retirement

After winning an Olympic bronze medal and belts in five different weight classes, Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently announced his retirement from the sport of boxing.

Wasting no time outside of the ring, Mayweather will give the world a sneak peak of what comes next during an upcoming weekend he calls dubbed "Round 13: When the Gloves Come Off." The weekend will celebrate him as a boxer and the city that ignited his career and his birthplace -- Grand Rapids, Michigan

"I want to personally thank all of my fans for their loyalty and dedication as my career comes to a close," Mayweather recently wrote. "I always keep in mind where I came from, which is why I decided to have my retirement party in Grand Rapids."

On July 4th, 5th, and 6th, Mayweather will come to Grand Rapids for several star studded with events, such as a concert, a 70s themed roller skating party, a Mayweather produced film showing the world rare behind the scenes boxing footage, and Stars on the Grand, a general admission festival in downtown Grand Rapids.

All of these events will be open to the public.
